September 2012

To prepare MS-2 OGIG members for their October OB/GYN preceptorships, Dr. Howard Herrell and his residents will be holding a pelvic exam/birthing simulation lab workshop on September 19.  This experience will help students become more familiar with these techniques before performing them on actual patients.

We plan to hold another workshop in the Spring for those students who could not attend this time around.

August 2012

Our first lunch of the year was on August 22 in the large auditorium. Dr. Howard Herrell was our guest speaker and spoke about the field of OB/GYN as well as how to choose the specialty that fits you best.

November 2011

Our next lunch will be on November 9 at 12:00 in the large auditorium. OB/GYN residents will speak about working and living as an OB/GYN resident, as well as answer any questions you may have!

If anyone has a specific request for a lecture, such as hearing about a certain topic or subspecialty, just let Laura or Courtney know!

OCTOBER 2011

To prepare M2 students for their October OB/GYN preceptorships, OGIG asked Dr. Howard Herrell and a couple of residents to teach a pelvic exam/birthing sim lab workshop. This experience helped the M2s become more familiar with these exams before performing them on actual patients.

Since there was limited space, we plan to do this again in the future so more students can take advantage of this opportunity.
